Urogynecology at Christus Trinity Clinic

Doctor Russell Stanley is a Gynecologist and Urogynecologist at Christus Trinity Clinic with a heart for helping and healing. Dr. Stanley grew up in Abilene, Texas, and spent most of his life in Texas. He attended Baylor University, where he earned a B.A. Degree in Religion. Subsequently, Dr. Stanley returned to Abilene and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Hardin-Simmons University while serving as a Baptist Pastor in a rural church. He and his wife, Lauren, were high school sweethearts and married when they were at Baylor. They have six children (two sets of twins). Dr. Stanley has done Baptist pastoral ministry off and on for 20 years now, intermixed with medical training. In 2010, the Lord called him to return to medicine to be a part of the world’s extension of His Hand and His Healing Ministry.

Dr. Stanley attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. He feels very privileged to be an Osteopathic Physician because the Osteopathic Philosophy of Medicine focuses on the crucial relationship between structure and function and emphasizes caring for the whole patient, including body, mind, and spirit. While in Osteopathic Medical School, Dr. Stanley felt a call to pursue women’s health and attended an OB/GYN residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. While at Texas Tech, he became very passionate about Urogynecology and decided to subspecialize in this area of women’s health.

Before coming to Trinity Clinic, Dr. Stanley completed a three-year Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In this training, he learned how to take care of the full scope of pelvic floor disorders for women. He learned how to integrate the concepts of structure and function as an Osteopathic Physician. By surgically repairing Pelvic Organ Prolapse robotically or through a transvaginal surgical approach, his team can restore normal anatomy and improve function for women. As a Urogynecologist, Dr. Stanley offers both surgical and non-surgical methods to Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Urinary Incontinence, Fecal Incontinence, Pelvic Pain, Interstitial Cystitis, Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections, GI Tract Fistulas, Urinary Tract Fistulas, Abnormal Uterine Bleeding and other general gynecologic conditions. Dr. Stanley looks forward to serving the Texarkana community and region with this subspecialty and helping women improve their quality of life.
