Texarkana Symphony Orchestra 2020 Celebrity Conductors
The Texarkana Symphony Orchestra (TSO) Announces Its 10th Annual Celebrity Conductor Competition
This year’s competitors include Cassy Meisenheimer, publisher of Texarkana Monthly; Jane Portis, Residential Case Manager with Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter; Randy Roeser, attorney with the firm of Haltom & Doan; and Brandon Washington, Vice President of Operations at Texarkana College. The winning Celebrity will conduct Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson, at the Orchestra’s Christmas at the Perot concert on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at 4:00 PM.
The primary purposes of the Competition are to raise awareness of the TSO within the community, broaden the orchestra’s audience base, and raise vitally important funds to support the mission of the Orchestra. Orchestras
throughout the United States hold such competitions, however TSO’s is among the longest running and most successful, raising over $50,000 annually.
The community is encouraged to vote to support their favorite candidate(s)—supporting TSO in the process. Each vote is $20, and you can vote for as many candidates as you choose, as many times as you wish. Votes can be cast through the TSO’s webpage, links on social media, or by contacting your favorite Celebrity Conductor!
