TASD Top Ten 2023
Parker Wade Bennett—Valedictorian is the son of Kenny and Jo Bennett. He has one brother Riley Bennett.
During Parker’s high school career, he has been an active member of the National Honor Society, the 2023 EAST Conference team, and captain of Texarkana Arkansas Trap team. Parker is active in scouting and earned the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout.
Parker has received many honors and awards during his years at Arkansas High. He was on the A Honor Roll all four years of high school, earned a GPA of 4.6793, completed nine advanced placement courses, several concurrent credit courses, and 18 hours of college credit. He was also selected to be 50th Boy by the AHS staff. Parker attended TASD for grades K-12 and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Parker ended his senior year with perfect attendance.
This fall, Parker will attend the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville to pursue a degree in civil engineering.
Cassandra Irene Moore—Salutatorian is the daughter of Sean and Lydia Moore. She has a sister, Samantha Moore, and two brothers, Caleb and Joshua Moore.
Cassandra has enjoyed being involved in many activities while at Arkansas High School. She has been an active member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, band, nerd club, theater, and served as Crochet Club President.
Cassandra has taken 11 advanced placement courses and several concurrent credit courses. Cassandra attended TASD for grades K-12 and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She has completed 21 college hours and has a 4.6367 GPA.
Cassandra will attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock this fall as a member of the Donaghey Scholars Honors Program. She will major in computer science.
Katie Ann Brown is the daughter of Marie and Barry Brown.
She was a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. She was on the varsity tennis and cheer teams. Katie participated in clubs such as NIKE, HOSA, Interact, FCS, and MMP. Katie attended TASD for grades K-12 and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
She received a total of 33 college hours. She plans to attend the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in the spring after returning from Army boot camp and AIT. She plans to major in pre-med.
Jackson Wyatt Shipp is the son of William and Lesa Shipp.
Parker attended TASD for grades K-12 and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He finished 4th in the class of 208 graduates with a 4.5 GPA.
He was a member of GT, National Honor Society, and the Varsity Baseball Team.
He graduated with 18 college credits and plans to attend Texas A&M-Texarkana and become a coach.
Gabrielle Elizabeth Boswell is the daughter of Ashley Alford and the granddaughter of Jay Alford, Francisco Perez, and Deanna Plunk.
During school, she was involved in theater and robotics. Gabrielle graduated Summa Cum Laude.
By the end of high school, she earned 56 college hours through dual credit classes. She plans to major in psychology at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
Seth Lee Uncel is the son of Bobby and Jennifer Uncel and the brother of Blake Uncel.
Seth attended TASD for grades K-12 and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He participated in Robotics, Football, and Internship. He is a member of the National Honor Society and will graduate with a Pre-Engineering Completer Certificate and Microsoft Office Certification.
Seth was enrolled in advanced placement /concurrent credit courses through the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He completed 22 college hours and received a Certificate of Proficiency in Industrial Tech-Mechanical—NCEER certification from UAHT. Seth is a member of Trinity Baptist Church and Journey High School Ministry.
Seth was awarded the Presidential Scholarship from Texarkana College and the Tony Hadaway Memorial Scholarship. He is enrolled at Texarkana College, pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in mechatronics and instrumentation/robotics.
Matthew Harley Hughes is the son of Gregory Hughes and Barbara Hughes.
He was involved in AFJROTC, the National Honor Society, and a member of FRC Robotics Team 6586. Matthew graduated Summa Cum Laude.
He plans to attend the Milwaukee School of Engineering for a mechanical engineering degree and a minor in computer science.
Evelyn Marie Martin is the daughter of Dodds and Kimberly Martin.
She is a 4th-year member of the Razorback Redline and a 3rd-year lieutenant. She’s a 2-year AHS Ladyback Bowling Team member and placed 3rd this year at state individually. She is involved with National Honor Society, Nike Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and Razorback TV. Evelyn also received the 50th Girl honor, chosen by Arkansas High staff for exemplary qualities. Evelyn attended TASD for grades K-12 and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
She will be graduating with 30 college hours. Evelyn plans to attend the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville to double major in communications and advertising/public relations.
Kelsie Kelis Booth is the daughter of Felisha Matlock and Travares Booth.
Kelsie is enlisted in the United States Air Force in Aerospace Medical Services. She chose the Air Force instead of college because of opportunities to meet new people and serve the country.
In high school, she started on the Ladyback Varsity Volleyball Team as the libero (defensive specialist) for three years and was the Ladyback Varsity Soccer Captain her junior year. She was a part of the Interact and Crochet Club during her senior year of high school. Kelsie attended TASD for grades K-12 and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Kelsie maintained straight A’s her entire high school career and finished with a 4.1 GPA. She loves to praise dance, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
Callie-Jo Reese Brookes is the daughter of Jodie and Von Brookes.
Callie-Jo graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. She represented Arkansas High at Girls State. Callie-Jo was on the Homecoming Court and was crowned Miss Arkansas High 2022. She also is a member of National Honor Society, NIKE, Razorback TV, HOSA, Golf Team, Bowling Team (winning the title of Conference Champs), and a 3-year member of Redline, serving as Lieutenant sophomore year and captain junior year. Callie-Jo attended TASD for grades K-12 and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Callie-Jo is graduating with 18 college hours and plans to attend Ouachita Baptist University to major in nursing while minoring in psychology.
