Four States Regional Art Show
The Four States Regional Art Club (FSRAC) proudly inaugurated its 40th Annual Art Show at Texas A&M University-Texarkana, showcasing a stunning and diverse collection of artistic talent from across the region. The exhibition features an impressive array of works that capture a wide range of styles and subjects, with awards presented in categories such as Abstract, Animal, Floral, Genre, Landscape, Portrait, Still Life, Shades of Gray, and the coveted Best of Show. This celebration of creativity and craftsmanship is open to the public and will remain on display in the university's library through December 11, 2024. Art enthusiasts and community members are encouraged to visit and immerse themselves in the vibrant world of local artistry.
In addition to hosting its annual art show, FSRAC offers a welcoming space for artists of all backgrounds to connect, encourage, and support one another in their creative journeys. The club, led by President Beverly Adler, fosters a sense of community and collaboration among its members, creating opportunities for artistic growth and camaraderie. Monthly meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month at 2:00 PM in the Hospice of Texarkana Board Room, located at 2407 Galleria Oaks. These gatherings provide a platform for artists to share their work, participate in workshops, and engage in meaningful discussions about art and its role in the community. The next meeting is scheduled for January 12, 2025, and all art lovers are warmly invited to attend.
As a highlight of FSRAC's past events, Carla Myane’s 2022 painting, titled “Soon Gone,” stands as a testament to the depth and emotion that members bring to their work. This piece, like many others, displayed through the club’s initiatives, reflects the power of art to convey poignant stories and touch the hearts of its audience.
