Watermelon Margarita
Nothing says summer like a big juicy watermelon. So why not add a little kick and take this summertime favorite to the next level?
INGREDIENTS
- Chamoy Sauce
- Tajin
- Silver Tequila
- Lime Juice
- Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup
- Fresh Watermelon
- Ice
INSTRUCTIONS
- Take a rocks glass and press the rim into the Chamoy sauce.
- Rotate the rim in Tajin until fully coated and set the glass aside.
- In your cocktail shaker, add 1 ½ ounces of your favorite silver tequila. I chose Hornito’s.
- Add in ¾ ounce fresh squeezed lime juice and ¾ ounce agave nectar or simple syrup.
- Add 2 ounces of fresh watermelon juice. (For fresh watermelon juice, all you need is a seedless watermelon, a blender and a fine-mesh strainer. Scoop the watermelon into the blender, pulse until fully combined and strain.)
- Add one scoop of ice into your shaker and give your margarita a quick shake.
- Add fresh ice into your prepared glass and strain.
- Garnish with a slice of fresh watermelon and enjoy!
For an equally refreshing alcohol-free beverage, simply skip step three!
If you like your summer-time beverages on the spicier side, add in a few slices of muddled jalapenos, or try your hand at a home-made jalapeno-infused tequila. This cocktail is perfect for days by the pool and can be customized to fit everyone’s taste. Be creative and have fun!
