2022 is the Year!

“Kate, do you need some help with that?” I asked. One of my resolutions for 2022 is to excel in being a better big sister. I want to spend more time with my sister, Kate, and help her out more frequently. I would also like to improve on being an example for her. Time can fly by, so I’m going to use it wisely. Here are a few ways I’m going to try and accomplish this.

One way I’m going to help Kate more often is by helping her with her chores. When it’s her night to do the dishes, I can help her load them. I’m also going to make an effort to quiz her on spelling and vocabulary every afternoon. I can spend more time with her by reading a book or chapter every other night before we go to bed.

Everyone has a resolution for the new year such as exercising more, losing weight, or even spending less, but my resolution for 2022 is to be a better big sister by spending more time with her and helping Kate out more.

When people come up with a new year’s resolution, it is usually things like working out, limiting phone time, or even eating healthier. My new year’s resolution is something I like to do not only in 2022, but every day of every year. I will help my grandmother, Bicki, more around her house and in her yard.

The first reason I would choose to help is to spend more time with her. I enjoy talking about things with my grandma and learning about new things from her. Her macaroni and cheese recipe is a secret, however, I am the only one who knows all the ingredients! Doing work in the yard and garden is hard for most people. This is why I help her with these tasks, because two hands are better than one. I help her pick peppers, tomatoes, and weeds. After a big storm, we have to load up a bunch of sticks. Her dog, Maggie, is a lot of work and it helps when I play with her and get out all of her energy.

I have many goals for 2022, but this is one of them. Now that you know what I’m going to do in 2022, what resolutions are you going to make?

Working out more, eating healthier, and being less competitive are common resolutions for many people, but the resolution I want to accomplish in 2022 is to not be on my phone as much. I’m not doing my homework, not studying, and my grades are starting to drop, so this resolution will keep me out of trouble!

I’m going to complete my resolution by only having an hour a day on my phone. Next is to go outside more and play basketball and baseball with my brother. I could also play with my sister more and spend more time with my family. We could talk about what’s been happening lately. Lastly, I could go over to my friend’s house more often.

All of these things will help me stay off my phone, but the best one is going outside more. But- Oh wait! Hold on! Ring, ring, ring, ring. Sorry about that. Ding (text message). Ok, what I was saying is I’m going to start spending a lot less time on my phone!
