United Way 2019 Campaign Recognition Lunch

A letter from United Way of Greater Texarkana Executive Director Mark Bledsoe

To our Community and Campaign Supporters:

On Monday, June 22, 2020, United Way of Greater Texarkana was able to have the first board meeting since February 17th. It was a lunch at Silver Star Smokehouse with board members and Texarkana, Arkansas Mayor Allen Brown in attendance. Due to COVID-19, our annual United Way of Greater Texarkana 2019 Campaign Recognition Breakfast had to be cancelled. Although this was a general UWGT board meeting, many campaign recognition awards were handed out. This replaced our breakfast that would have normally been held in March. We asked our board members to accept awards on behalf of the top campaign contributors. We are thankful we could come together during this time; safely, social distancing, and recognize the hard work and dedication that went in to last year’s campaign, while also recognizing several key individuals whose efforts made it successful.

Top Ten Campaign Contributors “In Attendance”

Many of our United Way of Greater Texarkana board members represent companies recognized as our Top Ten Supporters. This year’s Kline Cup recipients were William O. Morriss and Courtney Boeckmann. United Way also recognized Dean Barry for his sponsorship and Mayor Allen Brown for his leadership in the multi-year title sponsorship of the LIVE UNITED BOWL held on Saturday, December 7, 2019.
