Ministry Well Done
Please join FBC Texarkana on Sunday, March 27th at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m to celebrate a "Ministry Well Done" and honor our Associate Pastor, Mr. Larry Sims. He has baptized, married, counseled, consoled, and encouraged countless souls with God-given compassion and love throughout his tenure at First Baptist Church. His heart for First Responders is well-known throughout the region as well as his long-time work with Hospice Texarkana. Mr. Larry has loved his church family and surrounding community so well during his 44 year-long career. It is our pleasure to provide those he has ministered to an opportunity to show him just how much he means to them and to love him well in return.
Larry has been a vital part of the ministry at FBC since 1978. He has a love for music, travel, art and reading. Year-round he is a fan of Duke basketball as Duke is his alma mater. Larry has led Senior Adult trips worldwide, including numerous visits to Europe, Israel, Egypt, Russia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, Hawaii, and many points in between!
Larry taught Senior Adult Bible Study and led the Cafe Class in FBC Adult Bible Study Ministry. The class is composed of adults ranging from their early 30s to those in their late 40s and beyond.
Everyone is invited to attend as a love offering is being collected to present to him for his never-ending love for our community.
