MISSION
The Pleasant Grove ISD Education Foundation’s mission is to provide opportunities for excellence in education, promote innovation in teaching, and partner with the community to enhance the quality of education for all students.
PURPOSE
The Pleasant Grove ISD Education Foundation will support educational excellence to enhance student achievement, to recognize exemplary staff involvement and to foster community support and involvement.
SCOPE OF WORK
The Pleasant Grove ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt philanthropic charitable organization.
- Cultivates innovation and creative involvement to benefit Pleasant Grove ISD students and staff enhance the mission of the school district
- Supports activities not funded by tax revenue
- Solicits funding from private and corporate sources
- Awards funding through a volunteer committee, representing business, community and educational leaders
GOALS
The Pleasant Grove ISD Education Foundation will achieve its mission by directing resources toward the following goals:
- Encourage all students to work at their highest potential
- Support staff for innovative efforts
- Recognize staff for exemplary teaching
- Build community awareness for Pleasant Grove ISD Education Foundation
- Involve the community in assuring a quality education for the leaders and workers of tomorrow
ANNUAL EVENTS
Great Grant Giveaway
Since 2007 we’ve invested over $400,000!
- 121 grants awarded to classrooms
- 330 chromebooks provided for Pleasant Grove Middle School and Pleasant Grove High School
- 67 document cameras, 60 iPads with charging stations, & 52 interactive wireless tablets
- 12 scholarships awarded to graduating high school seniors totaling $12,000
- $5,000 given to College Preparation Fund at Pleasant Grove High School last year
- 13 years of honoring the top 25% of the senior graduating class with an Academic Banquet and teh PG staff members, chosen by students who impacted their lives
- Sent 14 teachers to the Colonial Williamsburg Institute, and others to teacher training and workshops
- Funds given toward district projects such as Performing Arts Center lighting and Journalism equipment
Culinary Uncorked
Every spring, the PG Education Foundation hosts Culinary Uncorked to celebrate our sponsors and supporters of PG Education Foundation with music and food and wine pairings. This event also serves as a fundraiser with silent auction items.
Hawk Hustle
Hawk Hustle was created to encourage Pleasant Grove Elementary and Intermediate School students and families to be involved in supporting the Pleasant Grove Education Foundation and to encourage students to be physically fit. In order to provide this event and to raise funds for the foundation, we encourage local businesses to support us through corporate sponsorships.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
Staff Campaign
Staff members are given the opportunity at the beginning of the year to opt for a a $10.00 per month payroll deduction to be donated to the PG Education Foundation. As a “Thank You,” teachers may wear jeans on the second Tuesday of each month for “Foundation Fun Day.” On these days, members of the PG Education Foundation deliver treats to each campus.
