The city of Texarkana, Texas, launches new MyGOV TXK Initiative to empower residents and promote civic engagement

Have you ever encountered an issue in your neighborhood, like a malfunctioning streetlight, an obstructed stop sign, or an unkempt property, and wondered how to report it? The City of Texarkana, Texas, has heard your concerns and is committed to improving the way residents communicate such problems. Introducing MyGOV TXK—a groundbreaking tool, designed to simplify the reporting process and keep you informed about the actions taken. This innovative initiative aims to enhance resident involvement and facilitate a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant city.

Texarkana’s MyGOV TXK is set to launch this summer, offering residents a user-friendly online platform accessible through texarkanatexas.gov. By clicking on the “MyGov” section, you can easily submit requests to report various issues, including litter, substandard structures, right-of-way violations, and much more. Once you provide your contact information, you will receive regular updates on the progress made toward resolving the problem. Alternatively, you can choose to remain anonymous if needed. Additionally, this system streamlines the development process for new businesses by offering online contractor registration and permitting services.

In line with promoting community involvement, the City of Texarkana encourages residents to participate in its board and commission activities. By visiting www.ci.texarkana.tx.us/370/Boards-and-Commissions, you can explore the current list of boards and commissions, along with their descriptions, term dates, duties, residency requirements, and meeting schedules. Some positions may require specific skills or knowledge, as well as residency in particular areas, while others do not. It is important for board, commission, and committee members to attend scheduled meetings regularly. Even if the position you are interested in is currently filled, the city encourages you to apply, as your application will be considered by the city council for the next available vacancy.

Texarkana is dedicated to fostering a strong partnership with its residents through the MyGOV TXK initiative and active involvement in advisory boards and commissions. Together, we can build a thriving community where issues are promptly addressed and residents’ voices are heard. Let’s work hand in hand to make Texarkana an even better place to live, work, and play.
